Doorstep Photography

Photography is a huge part of who I am, it’s my love, my passion and it has also been my income for 15 years. During the lockdown of early 2020 I had to cancel everything.

My obsession with capturing childhood and relationships is ingrained in me, so I wanted to capture the effect lockdown was having on our families, so I started photographing people along our street, and as word spread, it grew. So, I created ‘Doorstep Photography’ a mini photo shoot on your doorstep, in your garden or in a local field.

My work and time was initially given freely, with people making a donation of whatever they could afford to pay to support my work and to keep the arts alive during that crazy time. Every image I produce takes time to edit, and I simply couldn’t afford to put so much of my energy and time into my work and support my family with such little income, like us all with children at home, lost jobs and juggling balls.. I needed to find a balance and pay the bills!! So my sessions becaume longer and what started out as a 10 minute shoot in my neighbourhood, soon grew into something I could work with and I had the privilege of photographing over 40 families.

Nothing makes me happier than taking photos, so I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in my doorstep sessions. Because of you, I stayed positive, happy and sane during those crazy times..!! From the depths of my soul.. I Thank you!!
